FACTS:
A baby born now would be termed “viable” by medical professionals meaning that it would have a good chance of survival with technology and special care. At this stage, your baby’s vital organs are still maturing and the lungs are lacking muscle strength as well as a special lining needed to breathe independently.
In your womb, your baby is able to safely practise breathing in the amniotic fluid.
